DigiCert and Citrix have launched an integration aimed at automating SSL/TLS certificate management for enterprises operating across hybrid and multi-Cloud environments, as shrinking certificate lifetimes increase pressure on IT teams to streamline encryption processes.
The partnership, announced on 13th November 2025, links DigiCert’s certificate-management platforms with Citrix NetScaler’s Zero-Touch Certificate Management system using the ACME protocol. The companies said the move would give organisations centralised visibility of certificates, automate routine tasks, and improve resilience by reducing outages caused by expired or misconfigured credentials.
The integration works with both DigiCert CertCentral and DigiCert Trust Lifecycle Manager, the latter offering additional controls including policy enforcement, delegated administration, and broader oversight of distributed environments.
The industry is preparing for certificate lifetimes to fall from 398 days to just 47 days, a shift that cyber-security specialists warn will make manual processes unviable. DigiCert and Citrix said automation would be essential to avoid errors, maintain compliance, and support future changes in cryptographic standards, including post-quantum upgrades.
Anthony Ricci, AVP of Solutions Engineering at DigiCert, said the cryptographic landscape was “undergoing rapid transformation”, adding that the collaboration would allow enterprises to automate certificate issuance and renewal to maintain uptime and compliance.
Steve Shah, SVP/GM at Citrix NetScaler, said shorter certificate validity windows meant “the margin for error disappears”, arguing that the integration would simplify operations and help security teams keep pace with modern infrastructure demands.
The service is available immediately to Citrix NetScaler enterprise customers worldwide.
