Cincoze’s rugged embedded computer, the DS-1402, has recently received two prestigious international awards. Part of the Rugged Computing – DIAMOND product line, the DS-1402 excels in high performance and PCIe expansion, fulfilling the stringent requirements of edge computing, smart factories, and machine vision.
The DS-1402’s innovation and technical excellence were recognised by Vision System Design with the Innovators Award and by Control Engineering with the Product of the Year Award.
The DS-1402 is a solution for machine vision and industrial applications, where performance is paramount. It can be configured with a 13th or 12th generation Intel (Raptor Lake-S / Alder Lake-S) 65W processor, offering up to 24 cores (8P + 16E) and 32 threads.
This setup provides a 1.35-fold increase in processing power compared to its predecessor, the Comet Lake-S. To meet high reliability and data integrity requirements, the DS-1402 supports 64GB of 4800MHz DDR5 ECC memory. Storage options include 2.5″ SATA, mSATA, and M.2 Key M, allowing flexible configurations tailored to specific application needs.
Equipped with two PCI/PCIe expansion slots, the DS-1402 supports various I/O, GPU, image capture, data acquisition, and motion control cards, customising the system to suit diverse applications. For maximum computing performance, a 110W GPU card (111 x 235mm) can be installed.
To address the issue of cards loosening in high-vibration environments, the DS-1402 features a patented adjustable PCIe holder (patent number: I773359), securing expansion cards and preventing operational shutdowns. The device also includes inhaling and exhaling fans to dissipate heat generated by GPU cards, enhancing cooling performance as required.
The DS-1402’s native high-speed I/O interfaces include 2x 1GbE LAN and 8x USB ports. Additional I/O and functions, such as PoE or IGN, can be added via Cincoze’s exclusive CMI/CFM module, reducing configuration deployment costs and time. The system also features three Mini-PCIe slots, supporting a wide range of wireless transmission options including WiFi, GNSS, 4G, and Bluetooth, alongside other add-on cards for varied application needs.
Built for durability, the DS-1402 includes industrial-grade protection and holds several industry certifications. It operates across a wide temperature range (-40 to 70°C) and voltage range (9 to 48 VDC), and features overvoltage, overcurrent, and ESD protection.
It complies with the US military shock standard MIL-STD-810G and holds the internationally recognised UL 62368-1 safety certification, ensuring safety and reliability. Additionally, it has passed the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) EN 50121-3-2 standard in EN 50155, making it a secure choice for railway computing solutions.
