Sercomm Corporation, a global provider of embedded connectivity and integrated networking solutions, has launched a high-performance, multi-band, dual mode LTE-M/NB-IoT module based on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF9151 reference design with Nordic nRF9120 SoC and related power management and RF front-end components.
The ‘TPM530M’ cellular IoT module provides a fully featured solution in a compact 14.55 by 14.51 by 1.85 mm package size. The pre-certified Sercomm module is designed for a wide range of space-constrained cellular IoT applications such as smart metering, bike sharing, wearables, smart city, security, asset tracking and environmental monitoring.
The Nordic-powered TPM530M delivers developers an open and powerful 64MHz Arm Cortex-M33 application domain with 1 MB NVM and 256 KB RAM and comprehensive set of peripherals including multiple SPI, UART, I2C, PWM and ADC interfaces, 32 GPIOs. It features GPS, and an extended 3GPP compliant temperature operating range of -40 to max. +85 °C.
Moreover, the TPM530M supports both PSM and eDRX power saving modes. For both LTE-M and NB-IoT the PSM floor current with full memory retention is as low as 2.7 µA, and with an eDRX interval of 655s the average current is 6 µA for LTE-M and 9 µA for NB-IoT. This ultra low power consumption ensures Sercomm’s module is suitable for applications that demand extended battery lifetime between recharge or replacement.
