Blu Wireless is proud to announce the appointment of Anthony Murray as its new CEO, effective immediately. His appointment marks a significant step as the company enters a new phase of international growth, with a strong commercial focus on its core markets – defence and high-speed transport.
“Joining Blu Wireless at this pivotal stage presents a unique opportunity to help shape the future of advanced connectivity. The company’s innovation in mmWave technology is not only enabling use cases previously not possible, but it’s also achieving this in difficult environments within defence and high-speed transport where many have failed,” said Murray. “I’ve always been drawn to teams that challenge convention and build market-defining products using industry leading technology. I see that spirit deeply embedded in Blu Wireless and I’m looking forward to working with our talented team to scale our technology and products across our target markets, turning bold ideas into global success stories.”
Anthony is a seasoned technology executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience in high-growth, innovation-driven companies under his belt. Most recently, he served as CEO of McLaren Applied, where he oversaw the company’s strategic focus on key technology and products supplied into markets across motorsport, automotive and public transport before he sold the business out from McLaren Group. Prior to that, Anthony held senior leadership roles at Qualcomm Technologies, where he spearheaded business and product development strategies across a broad range of consumer and IoT market segments.
Earlier in his career, Anthony spent over 14 years at Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR), rising to the position of Senior Vice President before its acquisition by Qualcomm in 2015.
Anthony brings with him to Blu Wireless an exceptional track record of delivering commercial success across a wide range of connected technology sectors from consumer electronics, automotive, wearables, health tech, IoT and beyond. He holds a qualification in Electronics Engineering from Technikon Natal in South Africa.
“The Board is delighted to welcome Anthony as CEO and Board Director at an exciting time for Blu Wireless,” commented Hemant Mardia, Non-Executive Chairman, Blu Wireless. “His understanding of building business in complex value chains, communications technology and his market focus are a strong fit for the cutting-edge technology pioneered by the talented team at Blu Wireless. We look forward to his leadership with the management team driving the commercial strategy to deliver significant revenue growth and stakeholder value.”
