UniversalAutomation.org hosts training programme in Houston, USA

UniversalAutomation.org (UAO), an independent, not-for-profit association managing the implementation of an industrial automation shared runtime execution engine to decouple the application software from the hardware on which it executes, will host its second training programme at the start of December 2022 in Houston, USA (December 6–8).

The physical three-day training programme invites end-users and vendor members to learn best programming practices when using the IEC 61499 standard linked with the runtime execution engine of UAO.

Held in Wood’s facilities, the training sessions will explore how to reap the benefits of the next generation of industrial automation technology.

The attendees include a broad cross-section of UAO members including: Belden, Dynamic Process, ENGlobal, ExxonMobil, Intel, Kyndryl, Phoenix Contact, R. Stahl, Schneider Electric, Shell, Wood and Yokogawa.

“Industry 4.0 automation cannot be achieved by a single firm or vendor. Industry players must unite to share expertise, technology, and innovation, which is why collaborative training is so important,” said John Conway, President of UniversalAutomation.org. “We are thrilled to be holding our second technical training session with our esteemed members. We’re keen to demonstrate how this advanced technology can save costs and enable shorter time-to-market, all the while boosting innovation.”

“It’s a pleasure to be hosting the Houston training session for UniversalAutomation.org members this December,” said Heath Hendricks, OPA Centre of Excellence Sponsor at Wood. “Although our collective offerings are diverse, we all share the same vision for collaborative and fully universal automation systems. I look forward to connecting with my fellow members on how our advanced technological solutions will pioneer the future of engineering and manufacturing.”
