ProvenRun and ST Microelectronics announce certification for IoT Semiconductors

ProvenRun and STMicroelectronics announced the certification at level 3 from both SESIP and PSA for the STM32Trust Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) Secure Manager.

The STM32Trust TEE Secure Manager, powered by ProvenRun’s ProvenCoreM, enables developers to write and deploy code without the cost associated with obtaining security certifications. First announced in March last year, ST’s STM32H5 is the first microcontroller to leverage the STM32Trust TEE Secure Manager system-on-chip security solution to simplify embedded application development and assure out-of-the-box protection.

ST and ProvenRun announced the target of level 3 certification from the IoT security framework PSA certified following TrustCB’s SESIP methodology over ten months ago, and today achieved that target. Furthermore, IoT ecosystem partners are now able to accredit the security certifications to products employing the STM32H5 without the further costs typically incurred during the certification process.

Thierry Chesnais, CEO at ProvenRun, said “We are extremely excited to announce the certification of the STM32Trust TEE Secure Manager. It makes stronger security simpler for developers, securing innovation for intelligent edge devices. We’re looking forward to continuing our collaboration with ST to better protect connected devices.”

ST’s flagship microcontroller, STM32H5, uses the STM32Trust TEE Secure Manager, powered by ProvenRun’s ProvenCore-M secure Trusted Execution Environment Operating System.

The milestone certifications come hot on the heels of ProvenRun’s €15 million Series A in December, accelerating the Paris-based cybersecurity pioneer’s global expansion. Led by Tikehau Capital’s  Definvest fund in partnership with the French Ministry of Defense,  the funding is enabling ProvenRun to increase its footprint in the automotive, aerospace/defence and semiconductor industries.

ProvenRun, established by serial entrepreneur Dominique Bolignano, offers the world’s most secure operating system and apps for connected vehicles, smart devices and IoT-enabled hardware. The company’s flagship OS, ProvenCore, is the only OS to attain the highest certification level (EAL7) on common criteria. ProvenRun’s cutting-edge technology focuses on critical industries, effectively addressing the cybersecurity challenges now facing the IoT industry.
