The mioty Alliance is pleased to announce the release of ETSI TS 103 357-2 V2.1.1, an important update to the TS-UNB protocol specification for Low Throughput Networks (LTN). This latest version, published in June 2024, marks a significant advancement in the standardisation and enhancement of LTN technologies.
Key highlights of the updated specification include:
- Class B: Defines class B end-points, which support scheduled downlink communication, allowing periodic opportunities for downlink transmission
- Class C: Defines class C end-points, which support event-triggered downlink communication, enabling on-demand downlink transmission
- Higher data rate: Enhances power consumption efficiency in uplink while increasing capacity in downlink
- Low latency: Introduces new time and frequency patterns suited for low latency applications
- Power consumption: Offers timing flexibility in uplink for optimised current drain in devices
The mioty Alliance views this standardisation as essential for the progress and interoperability of LTN technologies. By providing a comprehensive and precise specification for the TS-UNB protocol, ETSI TS 103 357-2 V2.1.1 aims to streamline the development and deployment of reliable, efficient, and standardised LTN solutions.
