IOT Solutions World Congress to showcase latest in disruptive technology to industry

The IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC) is set to display the latest advancements and trends in this area. Scheduled from the 21-23rd of May at the Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, the event will host over 400 exhibitors and 250 experts, marking it as a central hub for innovation in the manufacturing sector.

This eighth iteration of the congress will organise its 125 talks around four key challenges: Technology-enabled transformation, Climate change and sustainability, Regulations and standards, and Security and cybersecurity. These sessions will explore solutions across various domains including IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Edge Computing, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 5G connectivity, Renewable Energy, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, and Process Robotics.

The conference, orchestrated by the International Society of Automation (ISA), will feature esteemed experts such as Elisa Rönkä, Global Director of SaaS Sales for Digital Buildings at Siemens; Lucy Han, Executive Vice President of Building and Home Automation Solutions at ABB; Megan Samford, Director of Product Safety at Schneider Electric; Madhu Pai, Technical Director of Global Partner Manufacturing at Amazon Web Services; Soloman Almadi, Senior Engineering Consultant at Saudi Aramco; and Didem Ün Ates, Operational Advisor in Artificial Intelligence at Goldman Sachs.

Marc Tarragó, Director of IOTSWC, expressed that the event aims to bring together the global technological ecosystem, empowering the industry to leverage technology to address its major challenges.

The exhibition space will present transformative solutions from more than 400 companies, including ABB, Digicet, Emnify, Faircom, KNX, iot squared, ST Microelectronics, and Txone. The congress will also feature a dedicated area for the semiconductor sector, a Testbed Zone, a Startups Pavilion, the Women and Diversity in Industry space, and the Garden, which serves as the event’s networking area.

Designed with sustainability and circularity in mind, the event utilises recycled and reusable materials. According to Statista, the IoT sector is witnessing steady growth, with 16.7 billion connected devices globally in 2023 and an expected increase to 19.2 billion by 2024.

IOTSWC 2024 will concurrently occur with the fourth edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, an annual event co-organised with the Government of Catalonia to promote cybersecurity awareness across all industries.
