Globalstar becomes member of the IoT M2M Council

Globalstar, the Louisiana-based satellite and terrestrial connectivity provider, has recently become a member of the IoT M2M Council (IMC), which stands as the preeminent global trade organisation for the IoT industry.

As the operator of a low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, Globalstar not only offers widespread connectivity solutions but also supplies specialised IoT modules and comprehensive tracking and telematics devices across various sectors. These sectors include transportation, logistics, energy, tank monitoring, construction, agriculture, and government.

The IMC brings together a diverse membership of 25,000 product manufacturers and enterprise users implementing IoT solutions across six continents.

Eric Chandler, representing Globalstar on the IMC’s board of governors, shared his vision for the partnership: “We are looking forward to introducing Globalstar’s cost-effective and reliable satellite connectivity solutions to new customers via the IMC, the largest trade organisation in our sector. With a range of innovations on the horizon, Globalstar aims to use the IMC platform to solidify our presence in key markets and explore new partnership opportunities.”

Globalstar is also at the forefront of merging satellite connectivity with terrestrial technologies to reshape the IoT and 5G landscapes. This includes their n53 spectrum, dedicated to enhancing 5G connectivity, and the recent introduction of XComp technology, designed to boost capacity in high-density wireless environments.

Sam Colley, CEO of Pod Group and IMC chairman, welcomed Globalstar: “We’re delighted to have Globalstar join the IMC. Connectivity is the bedrock of IoT, and insights from established satellite providers like Globalstar, who are integrating their solutions more deeply into the IoT ecosystem, are invaluable to our collective progress.”
