Energy saving potential of smart technology at SMART BUILDING EXPO 2023

The EnOcean Alliance has announced its participation at the SMART BUILDING EXPO 2023 in Milan, from 15th to 17th November, to exhibit the latest wireless products from its partners and demonstrate how innovative technologies can assist Italian firms and local governments in achieving the country’s environmental targets.

According to the European House – Ambrosetti Report 2023, retrofitting Italian structures with efficient and intelligent technologies is key to enhancing the nation’s environmental credentials. Smart building technologies have the potential to reduce annual energy usage by 20-24% and water consumption by 4-5%. Moreover, the transformation into smart buildings could result in savings of 12-14 billion euros, equating to a 20-22% reduction in Italian household costs.

The EnOcean Alliance, alongside its partners, will present their latest self-powered, wireless solutions for intelligent automation at the expo, suitable for both new constructions and refurbishment projects. The Alliance is a collective of enterprises utilising the EnOcean wireless standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3-10/11), dedicated to advancing smart homes, smart buildings, and smart spaces.

Attendees are invited to visit the EnOcean Alliance at stand G24 in Hall 6P, where members and partners will also unveil their newest developments in smart automation. EnOcean, Eltako, and NIR SIR will be present at the EnOcean Alliance stand, while other partners such as Thermokon Sensortechnik, Distech Controls, Vimar, Molex, WIT, Belimo, and Siemens will exhibit at their respective stands.

Graham Martin, Chairman and CEO of EnOcean Alliance, remarked: “In Europe, buildings account for 40% of energy use and 36% of total CO2 emissions, underscoring the importance of the solutions our members are showcasing at the SMART BUILDING EXPO in promoting sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions. We have calculated that devices with EnOcean technology are currently saving more than 1.4 million tons of CO2 annually worldwide, and we are committed to furthering these efforts to enable even greater savings.”

The EnOcean Alliance and its partners will be at stand G24, Hall 6P, SMART BUILDING EXPO 2023, Fiera Milano Rho, Strada Statale Sempione, 28 Milan (IT), from 15th to 17th November 2023.
