Advantech’s Edge IoT gateways certified to run Microsoft Azure IoT solution

Advantech has announced its products are now included in the Microsoft Azure Certified Device catalogue.

This integration ensures that customers can quickly implement Internet of Things (IoT) solutions with hardware and software pre-tested and verified to work with Azure IoT services.

The Azure Certified Device programme facilitates businesses in reaching their customers by working with a diverse range of devices and platforms, thus accelerating production times. Advantech’s UNO-2000 V2 series, comprising models UNO-2271G V2, UNO-2372G V2, and UNO-2484G V2, have received Microsoft’s ‘Azure Certified Device’ and ‘Edge Managed’ certifications. These devices are designed to streamline deployment, reduce costs, and enhance edge computing and analytics capabilities.

Azure Certified Device and Edge compatibility

The UNO-2000 V2 series is validated through the Azure Certified Device programme to ensure its ability to connect to the Azure IoT Hub and use the Device Provisioning Service (DPS) for secure provisioning. This certification confirms the series’ operational effectiveness and seamless interoperability. Additionally, the UNO-2000 V2 series has achieved Edge Managed certification, which sets device management standards for Azure-connected devices and reflects the series’ compatibility with edge runtime for module deployment and management.

Application-oriented UNO-2000 V2 gateways with flexible scalability

The UNO-2000 V2 series includes embedded box IPCs with rugged, fanless, and modular designs. The series offers various form factors, such as the pocket-sized UNO-2271G V2, the small-sized UNO-2372G V2, and the regular-sized UNO-2484G V2. These compact edge IoT gateways ensure ease of deployment and maintenance across various industrial IoT (IIoT) and automation contexts. They are equipped with multiple IO ports and support advancements like M.2 expansion, NVME storage, and type-C connectors for efficient data collection and transmission. The series can also incorporate second expansion stacks supporting Advantech’s iDoor technology, enhancing computational power and scalability.

Empowering intelligence to the Edge with Advantech Edge Service

Advantech’s Edge Service Package for Azure IoT Edge aims to simplify IoT project implementation. This service, installable on UNO-2000 V2 or other Azure certified devices running Ubuntu 20.04, enables customers to tailor gateway solutions to their specific needs. The package integrates cloud intelligence at the network edge, offering a pathway for hybrid cloud and edge computing services and facilitating large-scale workloads and IoT-enabled application development.

Advantech’s UNO-2000 V2 series has been certified for Azure, ensuring these gateways are ready, compatible, and usable with the Azure IoT Suite. By selecting devices from the Azure Certified Device program, customers can efficiently determine project specifications and save time in the RFP process.
