Vodafone Idea’s enterprise division, Vi Business, on Monday announced the launch of ‘Vi Business IoT Smart Central’, a new platform designed for IoT connectivity and device management. This development represents a noteworthy expansion of the company’s offerings in the IoT space, providing enterprises with enhanced capabilities to manage and monitor their IoT assets in real-time.

‘Vi Business IoT Smart Central’ aims to offer a comprehensive solution for businesses, facilitating the remote management and control of IoT devices and their SIM lifecycle. The platform has found early adoption among various industries, including an implementation by the electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Revolt Motors, showcasing its applicability across a diverse range of use cases.

The service promises to deliver a unified view of all IoT assets within an enterprise, allowing for real-time diagnostics, proactive alerts for critical issues, and remote troubleshooting capabilities. Additionally, it introduces dynamic billing and customised rate plans that adapt based on usage patterns, leveraging advanced analytics to meet the specific needs of each business.

According to Amit Satpathy, EVP and Head of IoT Business at Vodafone Idea, the platform is set to empower enterprises with the ability to centrally manage, control, and monitor their IoT connectivity needs across various sectors. Satpathy also highlighted the supportive role of government initiatives such as Digital India and Make in India in fostering the growth of IoT technologies within the country.

Furthermore, the platform comes equipped with predictive maintenance features intended to minimise operational downtime and enhance efficiency. With its self-service portal, ‘Vi Business IoT Smart Central’ enables users to quickly address queries, requests, and complaints, ensuring prompt resolution.

The launch places Vi Business among the prominent players in India’s IoT market, serving over 4,000 customers and leading in sectors such as Vehicle Tracking, Connected Cars, Point of Sale, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure. The company’s diverse M2M portfolio, including solutions for EV, Battery Management Systems, Agriculture, Solar, and Water Management, underscores its comprehensive approach to IoT solutions.
