Anritsu enhances one-box tester for 5G communication devices

Anritsu improves 5G communications testing

Anritsu has introduced an enhancement to its New Radio RF Conformance Test System, ME7873NR Lite Model, allowing it to function as a comprehensive one-box tester that supports both RF and protocol conformance testing for 5G communication devices.

By configuring the Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A as a one-box tester, the ME7873NR Lite Model can now perform RF conformance testing, while protocol conformance testing can be conducted using the 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR Lite Model. Previously, these tests required separate one-box testers with distinct hardware configurations. The new enhancements enable both types of conformance testing to be carried out on a single one-box tester, allowing for seamless switching between applications and optimising the capital expenditure associated with 5G device conformance testing.

The ME7873NR Lite Model, comprising a single MT8000A, is designed for RF conformance testing of 5G communication devices. With the latest enhancement, this model now supports 5G FR1 TRx testing as well as a selection of Perf and RRM tests, though with a limited range of test items.
