FRAMOS to showcase automation solutions at North America’s Largest robotics and automation show

FRAMOS has announced its presence at the Automate Show 2024 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

FRAMOS will be joining more than 800 game-changing exhibitors at the Automate Show from 6 May to 9 May 2024, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, USA.

Automate is a tradeshow and conference organised by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3) where the largest solutions-based showcase of automation, robotics, vision, motion control, and other automation technologies in North America.

At FRAMOS booth #5421, visitors will be able to explore live demonstrations of their newly launched FSM:GO optical image sensor modules for embedded vision systems that provide the best-in-class Off-The-Shelf image quality as well as visual representation of the well-known FRAMOS D400e product line of industrial 3D depth cameras for the industrial and ruggedised environment.

On 9 May at the Automate Innovation Stage, Sam Leboe, Product Manager at FRAMOS, will give an expert talk on “Navigating the Challenges of Building an Optical Module for Embedded Vision.”

FSM:GO is a comprehensive series of deployable optical sensor modules that offers a curated selection of pre-selected sensors paired with optimally focused lenses to deliver superior Off-The-Shelf image quality.

This latest innovation from FRAMOS represents a significant step forward in simplifying the embedded vision development process, making it cost-effective and time-efficient.

FSM:GO modules feature the latest Sony Starvis2 colour image sensors with 2MP (IMX662), 8MP (IMX678), or 12MP (IMX676), each with a suite of lens options, adaptable to multiple fields of view, diverse lighting situations, and varying working ranges, making the modules versatile for a wide array of applications.

Accompanied by a complete suite of necessary hardware components, ensuring seamless integration with prominent platforms such as NVIDIA’s Jetson and NXP i.MX8MP. This compatibility harnesses the power of leading embedded processing platforms to maximise performance.

FSM:GO optical sensor modules are suitable for a broad spectrum of applications, including sports and security, as well as enhance the capabilities of conferencing cameras, drones, smart traffic systems, industrial automation, surveying, mapping, and logistics.

FRAMOS will highlight its portfolio of D400e series depth sensing cameras. These 3D depth cameras are designed specifically for industrial environments and utilise advanced Intel RealSense stereo depth sensing technology to perform exceptionally well in any lighting condition. They can be deployed in even the most demanding environments thanks to their long cable lengths and robust M12 connectors. D400e series 3D depth cameras are high-resolution active stereo cameras suitable for indoor and outdoor applications in various lighting conditions.

On 9 May from 10:30 – 11:00 at the Automate Innovation Stage, Sam Leboe, Product Manager at FRAMOS, will give an expert talk on “Navigating the Challenges of Building an Optical Module for Embedded Vision”.

In this session, FRAMOS expert Sam Leboe will share some of the common challenges encountered during the process of designing and manufacturing embedded vision systems. Other covered topics will include the impact of electrical design on imaging performance, how to implement image processing pipelines on popular platforms and maintain quality while scaling into mass production. Based on FRAMOS’ experience of over 40 years in imaging, attendees can be better informed when considering whether to build or buy an optical sensor module.
