Building management is evolving into a more sophisticated process, balancing the dual priorities of enhancing occupant well-being and optimising energy efficiency. Resense Move by Distech Controls sets a new standard in achieving these objectives, delivering advanced sensing capabilities.
Resense Move combines people counting, presence detection, light intensity, VOC, noise level, and dew point monitoring for humidity and temperature. With an IP connection to Distech Controls controllers, it enables automated HVAC, lighting, and environmental adjustments for optimal comfort and efficiency. A feature of the Resense Move is its ‘AI at the Edge’ capabilities to detect the number of people in a room, via the thermal sensor, and adjust the environmental systems intelligently based on true demand.
Whilst the system can operate in automatic mode, it also allows occupants direct control over conditions and devices via a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection.
The Resense Move solution is adaptable to many building types but is especially valuable in office environments. Its proactive environmental control and noise monitoring help create a calm, comfortable atmosphere, contributing to improved productivity as well as cost saving via efficient energy management.
Insight SIP’s 1907-HT module provides Bluetooth connectivity to the system, allowing users to interact with the Resense Move device. Interaction can be through a dedicated Bluetooth remote control or the my Personify smartphone application.
In addition to directly controlling temperature and ventilation, the app can control other devices, like lighting or blinds, so room conditions can be tailored to the desired usage.
Damien Aloy, Program Manager for Occupancy Sensors at Distech controls, said: “We chose the 1907-HT due to the ease of using a pre-certified module, and its compact size. The extended temperature operation was also a valuable feature, allowing the unit to be placed in the ceiling mount at higher temperature, which is required for our product. We appreciated the fast and efficient support from Insight SIP.”
Nick Wood, Sales and Marketing Director at Insight SIP, said: “We are delighted our module was chosen for this innovative application, contributing to energy saving and more healthy buildings.”
As well as real-time control of the building environment, the Resense Move can send data to the cloud for more long-term monitoring and analysis for improved building management.
