Semtech announced the certification of the HL7900 Global 5G LPWA module by three US carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon – alongside KDDI in Japan. It has also achieved global regulatory certifications including FCC (US), ISED (Canada), CE (Europe), JRF/JPA (Japan) and NCC (Taiwan) and PTCRB and GCF industry certifications for global carrier interoperability, making it a globally deployable solution for low-power IoT applications.

“These certifications represent a significant milestone for the HL7900 module and reinforce Semtech’s leadership in IoT innovation,” said Michael Buonassisi, Director, LPWA modules at Semtech. “This carrier interoperability not only enhances the HL7900’s appeal for global IoT deployments by ensuring reliable, low-power connectivity across key markets, but also enables our customers to scale their solutions with confidence and streamline their path to success.”

The HL7900, powered by Sony’s Altair ALT1350 chipset, delivers optimised performance for next-generation IoT applications with features such as low-power consumption and extended coverage needs. Compared with earlier models, it reduces power consumption by up to 80%, enabling longer, more reliable operation for battery-powered IoT devices.
