Memfault unveils Product Analytics, a platform to provide insights

Recently Memfault, provider of the embedded device observability platform, unveiled Product Analytics, a new feature set aimed at delivering comprehensive insights into the performance and usage of Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

Memfault’s Product Analytics equips businesses with the data needed to make well-informed decisions by offering a detailed view of device utilisation and efficiency in actual environments. Alongside the introduction of the QuickStart integration, companies can now implement Memfault swiftly.

By the year 2030, it is expected that the global count of IoT devices will exceed 29 billion, a figure that doubles the number recorded in 2020. Despite the rapid proliferation of connected devices across diverse sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, and consumer electronics, driven primarily by software, the technology to monitor and enhance user experience has lagged behind.

Historically, gaining precise insights into the usage and functionality of connected devices in consumer hands has been an intricate and lengthy process with suboptimal outcomes. Teams had to either modify solutions initially created for mobile or cloud applications or develop bespoke solutions from the ground up. To address this deficiency, Memfault has introduced the first analytics tool specifically designed for IoT firms.

An extension of the existing Memfault observability platform, Memfault’s Product Analytics can be integrated into any fleet at any stage of development, including devices already deployed. It provides detailed insights that enable product managers and engineers to pinpoint popular features, gauge the performance of each individual feature, and eliminate unnecessary functions that can escalate costs and consume time.

“IoT devices often lack direct user interaction and are deployed in diverse environments leaving product managers and engineers with limited insight into usage and functionality,” said François Baldassari, CEO of Memfault. “Memfault’s Product Analytics empowers product managers to get a complete picture of product performance and usage, while engineers get a better understanding of how devices operate in the real world. With this data, it’s easier to optimise product strategies for current and future product iterations.”

Key features of Memfault’s Product Analytics include:

“Our goal is to provide our customers with better data so they can make better decisions,” added Baldassari. “With Product Analytics, our customers can achieve unparalleled insights into their IoT devices, driving more reliable products, better customer experiences, and more efficient teams and processes.”
